You may feel the effect of Viagra only during sexual excitement. It will not work if arousal is absent. Viagra usually works in about 30 minutes and will continue to work for about 4 hours.
Your erection will go away after the sexual activity. If you want Viagra to start working faster, take it on an empty stomach or after a low-fat meal.
Viagra may not be used by women and children.
Directions
It is recommended to take 50 mg of Viagra in 1 hour before planned sexual intercourse. You may increase your dose to 100 mg or decrease it to 25 mg if needed. Maximal recommended dose is 100 mg. Do not take it more then 1 time per day. Take Viagra only before the sexual activity.
Store Viagra in a tightly-closed container at 77 degrees F (25 C). Keep it away from heat, moisture and light. It is permitted, but not recommended, to store it briefly at 59 - 86 degrees F (15 - 30 degrees C).
Side Effects
Just like any other drug, Viagra may have side effects. Possible side effects include: diarrhea, headache, abnormal vision, urinary tract infection. More dangerous problems like heart attack, stroke or sudden death may arise for men with existing cardiac risk factors.
It is not recommended to take Viagra if:
- You are taking any medicine which has nitrates in it. This includes nitroglycerin patches (Nitro-Dur, Transderm-Nitro), nitroglycerin ointment (Nitro-Bid, Nitrol), nitroglycerin pills (Nitro-Bid, Nitrostat), and isosorbide pills (Dilatrate-SR, Isordil, Sorbitrate). If you take these drugs, your pressure may change severely;
- You have an allergic reaction after taking Viagra;
- You've had a heart attack, stroke, or life-threatening heart irregularities within the past 6 months;
- You have very high or low blood pressure, heart failure, or unstable angina (crushing heart pain that occurs at any time).
